Thompson, based in New York, has been making powerful work in his chosen styles of portraiture and figuration. Thompson's emotionally-rich works eloquently tell the stories of each of his subjects through insightful and personalized details. Thompson's work explores themes relating to love, family, mental health, and identity. His artistic practice includes painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, and paper-making. Khalif’s works can be found in a number of significant private collections nationally, as well as the Black Art In America collection, and the permanent collection of the David C. Driskell Center.
