In 2018, Mike Africa Jr. successfully organized to have his parents—two formerly incarcerated political prisoners of the MOVE 9—released on parole after 40 years. In this session we will screen an excerpt (5 min) of the upcoming short documentary, I'm Free Now, You Are Free, about the reunion and repair between Mike Africa Jr and his mother Debbie Africa. After, we will discuss the role of political prisoners under this violent repressive state apparatus and the importance of organizing for their liberation.
